  • Apply An Hour After Concrete Is Poured: HB Sealer Cures Concrete In Only 14-Days, Continue Building Or Install Floors On Green Slabs.
  • Apply To Green Concrete: If Your Concrete Is Older Than 14-days But Not Fully Cured Yet, Apply HB Sealer Then Let It Dry For 12-Hours, Then Begin Installing Floor System.
  • Apply To Existing Concrete: Begin Installing Floors Only 12-Hours After Application.

The 25-Year Limited Warranty includes coverage for the finished floor system, adhesive, patch and leveling compounds, and CMM products. In the event your finished floor system is damaged by moisture emission as a result of our product failing, we cover the costs to remove and replace your finished floor system. The warranty is project specific and must meet the requirements to qualify. Additionally, the HB Sealant system must be installed by a CMM Crew or a CMM Certified Company with a CMM rep supervising the install to qualify. This is to ensure the application of the system is done correctly, guaranteeing the desired results. Qualifying for the warranty is also dependent on construction size, new or existing concrete substrate, and type of floor covering used. Product Function:

Sealing

Hydro-Block seals concrete and other cement-based materials into a mass that is essentially solid, rather than porous. Its penetrating quality provides deep sealing effective for the life of the concrete.

Bonding

Hydro-Block eliminates surface dusting and flaking and prepares the treated surface for paints, caulking compounds, adhesives and floor coverings. It also increases the bond and life of these materials. It is compatible with any type of covering.

Densifying

Hydro-Block initially hardens concrete at a rapid rate. Concrete will continue to harden but slower.

Waterproofing

Hydro-Block becomes an integral permanent part of the concrete by reacting with the free lime and alkali found in all concrete, completely waterproofing and strengthening the structure of the concrete.

General Information:

HANDLING PRECAUTIONS:

Always handle product with proper PPE as directed in the Safety Data Sheet. If the product freezes, allow it to thaw and stir well before use. Avoid contact with aluminum, glass, and eyeglasses, as it may etch these surfaces; if contact occurs, rinse immediately with water. This sealer is specifically designed for cementitious materials and should not be applied to asphalt, as it can degrade its petroleum base. Leather apparel and certain glazed tiles may also be affected. Use product in a well ventilated area.

PERSONAL SAFETY MEASURERS:

Hydro-Block Sealer should be handled with care as it is slightly corrosive to human tissue. To ensure safety, wear protective gear like chemical goggles or a face shield and rubber or plastic gloves. In case of ingestion, do not induce vomiting; instead, drink water or milk followed by diluted vinegar or citrus juice, and seek medical attention immediately. For eye or skin contact, rinse thoroughly with water and get medical help. Always keep out of reach of children and consult the Material Safety Data Sheet for detailed safety guidelines.

Mold and Mildew Resistance with Advanced Antimicrobial Technology

For hospitals and other critical environments where microbial control is paramount, Hydro-Block Sealer offers an extra layer of defense. In addition to sealing concrete against moisture, which is essential for many microorganisms’ survival, Hydro-Block Sealer includes built-in antimicrobial technology for ongoing protection. This technology effectively prevents the growth of mold, mildew, and odor-causing bacteria. Industries with stringent health codes, such as healthcare and food service, can particularly benefit from the robust antimicrobial properties inherent in Hydro-Block Sealer, ensuring a safer and more hygienic environment.

Equipment For Application

Hydro-Block Sealer can be easily applied using a pump or battery powered sprayer equipped with a wide fan tip. Craftsman, DeWalt, Milwaukee, and Chapin battery powered sprayers are recommended.

Applying to Existing Concrete

When applying Hydro-Block Sealer to newly cured and remodeled concrete slabs apply the sealer in 1,000 to 1,500 sq ft sections. Apply one coat of sealer so that the slab receives a wet to light cloudy appearance. Once complete, allow this first layer to absorb into the slab for between 3-5 minutes and no more than 10 minutes. Apply a second coat to the section while the first coat is still wet. Only apply a second coat to areas where the sealer has penetrated, and the texture of the concrete has become apparent. After a second coat has been applied, allow a minimum of 12 hours for the product to dry. An overnight drying period is preferred. The slab may have a cloudy or darkened appearance once dry. In the event of thick white pools forming and drying in any low spots or over-applied areas, remove the loose dried product by scraping or gently buffing the concrete.

Floor Systems Hydro-Block Protects

Hydro-Block protects your flooring by sealing your concrete and preventing moisture from surfacing and damaging your floors. Hydro-Block works with:

  • Adhered Flooring Systems: hardwood, vinyl, tile, broadloom carpet, carpet tile, hard tile, sheet goods, luxury vinyl, VCT, and more
  • Floating Flooring Systems: engineered hardwood, laminate, luxury vinyl, wood
  • Anchored Flooring Systems: hardwood, gym floors
  • Resinous Coating Systems: PMMA, polyurethane, epoxy, polyaspartic, poured rubber, polyurea

For resinous coating systems, apply the concrete sealer after shot blasting the concrete and before applying the resinous coating.

Product Spread | 240-380 SF Per Gallon

For broom trowel and mechanically profiled surfaces the spread for Hydro-Block Sealer is 240-340 square feet per gallon. For heavily burnished or polished surfaces where the slab’s pores are opened with Etch-2-Bond, the spread for Hydro-Block Sealer is 280-380 square feet per gallon.

Approved Adhesives

Concrete Moisture Mitigation, Inc. (CMM) warrants the bond of the finished flooring manufacturer’s specified adhesive applied to the sealed concrete substrate. As a minimum requirement all adhesives must either be trowel-on or roll-on products. Adhesives must be able to be applied over a non-porous substrate. Adhesives applied directly to the sealed concrete surface must be applied as per specifications for a non-porous substrate.

Exception: Adhesives are not required to be applied as per specifications for a non-porous substrate if the Hydro-Block Sealer was applied during the concrete pour.

Does My Concrete Need to Be Etched?

When dealing with a hard-troweled, burnished, and polished surfaces that require waterproofing, using an etching solution like Etch-2-Bond is critical for ensuring the deepest penetration of our Hydro-Block Sealer. Etch-2-Bond is specially formulated to increase the porosity of hard-troweled surfaces. This enhanced porosity allows products such as Hydro-Block to be absorbed more effectively. As a result, concrete treated with Etch-2-Bond followed by Hydro-Block sealer achieves superior waterproofing protection, ensuring long-term durability and resilience.

Roofing System Protection

Hydro-Block Sealer offers protection to roofing systems from a multitude of potential concrete moisture-related problems. These concrete moisture issues include saturation of insulation and cover boards from concrete moisture causing adhered systems to delaminate or increase the risk of corrosion to metal components. Applying Hydro-Block Sealer prevents these concrete moisture issues by forming a solid barrier beneath the surface of the concrete.

25-Year Warranty Information:

What is the duration of the Hydro-Block warranty?

The Hydro-Block warranty is valid for 25 years from the date of purchase.

Who is eligible for the warranty?

The warranty is only available to the original purchaser of the Hydro-Block product. The warranty can not be transferred either.

How do I register for the warranty?

The original purchaser must register the warranty to activate it. You can register the warranty in two ways; online or through mail. Every order of Hydro-Block comes with a physical copy of the warranty documents along with a mailable form. The warranty registration requires a signature from both the Original Purchaser along with the CMM Representative (Installer). You can register the warranty online using the form at the bottom of this page. Keep in mind, both signatures are still required for the online form.

What does the warranty cover?

If the finished floor system is damaged by moisture emission’s as a direct result of manufacturing defects, then CMM will replace all defect products and cover expenses for removal and replacement of your floor. 

Are there any conditions for the warranty to be valid?

Yes, there are a few conditions that need to be met in order for the warranty to be valid such as meeting the minimum order requirements and ensuring the product is installed by a CMM certified and licensed company. 

Does the warranty cover installation issues?

No, it does not cover any installation-related issues or workmanship defects. This is because all installers are licensed, certified, and trained to install Hydro-Block to spec.

How do I make a claim under the warranty?

Specific procedures are outlined for processing a claim under this warranty. To file a claim, it can be done online on the File Claim page or you can use the link HERE. 

Are there any exclusions to the warranty coverage?

Is the warranty transferable?

No, the Hydro-Block 25-Year Warranty is not transferable. It is exclusively available to the original purchaser of the Hydro-Block Sealer product and cannot be transferred or assigned to another party. Details about transferability are specified in the warranty document.
